Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support that nurtures independence, self-direction and personal responsibility

in daily routines.

• Encourage and model age-appropriate social skills, communication and positive interaction in a

variety of settings.

• Develop and apply consistent, structured routines and strategies tailored to his individual needs,

strengths and goals.

• Support engagement in life-skills, educational, recreational and community activities.

• Accompany and safely transport him to appointments, activities and outings (a valid driver's

licence is required).

• Observe, monitor and document progress, and communicate openly and regularly with the family.

• Respond calmly and constructively to challenges, applying sound judgement and a patient,

person-centred approach.

• Maintain a safe, supportive, respectful and confidential environment at all times.

4. Formal training in psychology, occupational therapy, speech therapy or a closely related

discipline.

5. A high degree of patience, calmness and resilience.

6. A high level of emotional intelligence, empathy and interpersonal awareness.

7. Flexibility, with the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and overnight stays should

the need arise.

8. Trustworthy and reliable, with a proven track record; candidates should be willing to undergo

background checks and a suitability assessment.
